Hi! I'm Steffie, and I run Van Schaaijk Studio – a jewellery brand from the Netherlands.

Since I was young, I've had a desire to be creative. As a little girl, I painted and experimented with various crafts. During my college years, I moved from Brabant to Amsterdam, where I studied fashion. I interned at a small fashion label in Australia, where the seed for creative entrepreneurship was planted. I was fascinated to see how the owner created her own collection and inspired those around her. Back in the Netherlands, I initially worked as a marketing professional and photographer until a few years ago when I got into goldsmithing during a course. I was hooked and wanted to explore more and more. Initially, I worked from home, and recently I set up my own studio in Gouda above my boyfriend's motorcycle shop.

During my maternity leave I discovered polymer clay and enjoyed experimenting with shapes and colors. Mixing delicate pieces with bolder ones feels like the best of both worlds.

  • Bold jewellery

Discover lightweight polymer clay jewellery with organic shapes and playful patterns. Ideal for those seeking unique, statement pieces that are as comfortable as they are eye-catching.

One of the key attractions of polymer clay is its lightweight nature, making it comfortable to wear throughout the day. The epoxy resin coating provides its glossy look and also adds a protective layer that ensures longevity.

The addition of 18k gold plated surgical stainless steel findings ensures hypoallergenic properties, ideal for those with sensitive ears.

  • Fine jewellery

Handcrafted from 14k gold and 925 sterling silver, my fine jewellery collection embodies timelessness and sophistication. Perfect for those who appreciate the beauty of simplicity.

In my designs I work with soft lines and rich details. I like to look for contrasts and get my inspiration from both modern shapes and vintage classics, where timelessness always plays a major role. My goal is to create jewellery that will last a lifetime – and hopefully much longer. For this reason I mainly use 925 sterling silver or 14 carat solid gold.

All fine jewellery is made-to-order to keep my footprint as small as possible and to prevent overproduction.
